Pool Maintenance in Utah: What Pool Owners Should Know

An in-ground pool isn’t a “set it and forget it” investment — but it’s also not the time-suck many people fear. Here’s the real maintenance picture for Utah pool owners.

Weekly Tasks (15–30 min)

• Test water chemistry (chlorine, pH, alkalinity)
• Adjust chemicals as needed
• Skim leaves and debris
• Empty skimmer baskets
• Brush walls (especially around steps and waterline)
• Run robotic cleaner (or vacuum)
• Check pump and filter pressure

Monthly Tasks

Utah-Specific Considerations

• Hard water — Utah water is hard; calcium scaling is a constant battle. Watch calcium hardness levels.
